'A very attractive book and a fascinating biography and insight to one of New Zealand's leading social photographers.
Paul Moon is an academic professor of history at the Auckland University - however he is a wonderful writer of biography - and has a very non academic style that makes his books an engaging read - sometimes making the difficult not difficult and he feels for his characters - sometimes making even a "not very nice person" worth your time in reading the book (see his book on James Busby.)
However with Ans Westra he has chosen a very interesting character - one with a major story to tell - not an easy life to be sure.'
