Stephen Chadwick received a British Academy scholarship in 1994 to undertake a PhD in social and political philosophy at Aberdeen University. He went on to complete an MA in social work at the University of Hull, and subsequently worked for many years with drug users, professional sex workers and people with physical disabilities. Stephen has been teaching applied ethics at Massey University since 2006. In addition, he has taught the ethics of war to officers of the New Zealand Defence Force and facilitated sessions for nurses on bereavement support. He is also one of New Zealand’s premier astronomical photographers and has written two books on the subject. Stephen is the current secretary of the New Zealand Association of Philosophers.
