The Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi backs New Zealand’s most outstanding artists — with financial gifts, mentorship and epic recognition via Icon Whakamana Hiranga, Laureate and Springboard. Its funding is fully generated through private philanthropy; as at late 2025 it has invested $13 million in the arts over two and half decades. Its current board is Chelsesa Winstanley, Hamish Edgar, Kent Gardner, Andrea Hammond, Anne Noble, Hall Cannon, Lou Sanson, Rachel Qi, Tanea Heke, Tim Clarke and Bentley de Beyer.
